Growth Groups
Growth groups are our form of Sunday school or small group Bible study. We have chosen the name growth group because we want to intentionally communicate the purpose of these groups: to grow. We know that when we come together to study God's Word, growth in our relationship with the Lord and in our relationships with others will be the natural result. Our desire is that every member of First Baptist Watauga is plugged in and growing.
Why Should I Join?
By joining together in Growth Groups, we grow stronger in our relationship with God and each other by challenging, uplifting, and encouraging one another as we explore God’s truths.

How often do Growth Groups meet?
Growth Groups meet weekly for about 75 minutes. Most of classes meet on Sunday mornings starting at 9:30 AM, but we also have a Wednesday night class that starts at 6:00 PM at the church and an online class that meets Saturday mornings at 10:00 via Zoom.
What do you do?
People meet in Growth Groups to build and strengthen relationships with others at First Baptist Watauga and to dig into God’s Word. Through time spent together, scripture passages, and engaging discussion questions, Growth Groups get real with each other to talk about their lives, faith, needs, and whatever else comes up in conversation and material.

Is it okay to change classes?
Absolutely. We understand that you want to find people you feel comfortable being real with, and not everyone reaches that level. Plus, you might realize your current group members are in a different stage of life than you or that the meeting time doesn’t fit your schedule. We do ask that you have grace and patience to stick with your group and allow God to work. But if you strongly feel a change is necessary, you’re more than welcome to sign up for a new group, and we’ll gladly help you find the right fit!
