There are two important first steps for every person: repentance & baptism.

Repentance

In order to be forgiven, one must turn from their sins and turn to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Through Jesus alone we are promised salvation and eternal life.

Baptism

Baptism does not produce salvation, however, it is a response and an image of our salvation. There is no greater picture of sharing in Christ's death and resurrection than being fully immersed in water and raised back up.

At First Baptist Watauga, we encourage every new believer to partner with a mature believer for at least seven weeks for our Next Steps Discipleship program. These seven weeks help you to grow in your new faith while also building a relationship with someone already growing here at First Baptist Watauga.

Periodically Pastor Dennis will lead a class for new members or those interested in joining First Baptist Watauga. This class provides insight into who we are as believers and as a local church body.

Growth Groups are a vital part of who we are at First Baptist Watauga. Every week we meet together in small groups to study God's word together.
