Acts 1:8 Vision
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth" - Acts 1:8
We believe that Lord has called all believers to be involved in sharing His great love at home and abroad. At First Baptist Watauga, see seek to do this through our prayer, giving, and going. We have many local ministries to share the love of Christ and regular seek the Lord's direction for taking HIs message outside of our local community.
First Baptist Watauga doesn't seek to do this on our own. We partner with other local churches for some ministries. We are a proud partners with the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention (SBTC) and the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). Besides specific mission efforts, we voluntarily give 10% of all regular tithes to missions through our state and national convention.

Back to School Rally
The Back to School Rally began in 2008. It is a HUGE undertaking that provides approximately 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies for local elementary students. This effort is coordinated with other local churches and community partners. It takes 8 months to plan and prepare, but it culminates in a fun rally the August before school starts.
Sharing Christmas is another major mission effort that ministers to local children. We partner with Christmas Providers, Watauga UMC, and El Buen Samaritano to deliver groceries, food, and gifts to needy families in early December.
Snackpacks for Backpacks
Snackpacks for Backpacks is a ministry to children in our local school. We work with the school counselor to serve elementary students who would otherwise not have enough food on weekends. Our Student Ministry packs these food bags and they are delivered to the school counselor on Thursdays.
To the Ends of the Earth
Besides our regular giving through the Cooperative Program, First Baptist Watauga gives additional offerings to the Lottie Moon International Missions Offering, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (for North American missions), and State missions offerings.
We recently partnered with Compassion International to connect with two baptist churches in Managua, Nicaragua. We will be helping to support the Compassion ministries to families in this very low income area. You can learn more about this ministry by clicking here.
For the past several summers, our Student Ministry has work with World Changers to serving on various projects.
In the past decade, First Baptist Watauga served in the inner-city of Lima, Peru (for several years), worked in India, Honduras, Arizona, Colorado, Arkansas, South Dakota, and New Orleans. We regularly seek the Lord's direction for where He may send us next.
